The warehouse management system optimizes how work is done and understands when goods were shipped and who they were shipped to.
FREMONT, CA: By this stage in the epidemic, the COVID strategy for enhancing safety in industrial settings is popular. Before allowing workers into the building, take their temperature. While waiting for their temperature to be taken, assure workers are six feet apart.

Plexiglass should be used to protect stations where one employee must communicate with another and wear masks at work. Construct one-way pathways through a facility. Ensure that workers are at least six feet apart when working. Make sure that the seats at tables, and the tables themselves, are far enough apart during intervals to maintain social distance.
A warehouse management system (WMS) is a software solution that helps warehouse workers be more productive while ensuring that their work is done correctly. For example, a WMS might convey directions to a worker's radio frequency (RF) barcode device to travel to location 279 and choose three products, and there is a bar code on the place.
The worker scans the barcode at that spot using the RF gun. After that, the device informs the picker that he is in the correct location. The RF device may then ask the employee to confirm that they have selected three things. In other words, the RF guns verify that the correct items and quantities are determined.
RF Guns Can Help Enforce Social Distancing
Operational intelligence, a centralized, cloud-based platform for managing the performance of their mobile RF devices, is one such software solution. This software recognizes when equipment is not operating as intended and, as a result, when maintenance is required. Warehouse operations can also benefit from the software's operational intelligence. A dashboard, for example, can highlight congested areas in the warehouse so that flow can be enhanced.
Hardware sensors are embedded in the devices, with some having as many as nine. The sensors can identify various things, such as the device's temperature, whether it has been dropped, signal strength, and more. This Software as a Service (SaaS) solution collects performance data in real-time and sends it to the cloud for analysis regularly.
