When it comes to technology, smart waste management is an integral part of it. Smart waste management is described as applying technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of waste management. This allows for more effective route planning for garbage collectors who empty the container and reduces the likelihood of any bin remaining full for more than a week!
Microchips are utilized to collect various data, including the times when the bin receives the most trash and the container's capacity. They can also notify waste management businesses or municipalities if an unfavorable event occurs, such as a sudden temperature rise or container relocation, due to their GPS capabilities. IoT solutions tailored to the specific challenges of solid waste management provide municipalities with data intelligence and real-time insights. Along with technology, mobile applications are utilized to address difficulties inherent in the traditional waste management system, such as tracking drivers while they are out in the field.
