FREMONT, CA: Artificial intelligence is not the latest technology. However, previously the computers had limited performance of routine processing on the structured inputs. But today, with the help of AI, it can perform complicated tasks like driving a car, playing chess, and even grading essays. Often the functions performed by the computers are surpassed or equal to the most talented humans. Moreover, AI also can work with human beings so that they can create value in unusual ways.
The emerging toolkit of AI is the natural conversation, computer vision, and the machines that learn with time can improve the work done by the government. The technologies can enhance the quality of education, health care, and even policing and defense. However, until recently, it was difficult for the government bodies to understand the work that AI can achieve for them. At present, most of the public sector organizations have started utilizing or planning to use AI. Many even consider those cognitive technologies can be strategically crucial for their internal business process, and AI can be the foundation of that adoptive curve.
[vendor_logo_first]One of the primary reasons for which AI works well with the government is because of their necessity of volumes of data. Many governments have already started digitizing numerous pages of government records, and they have also planned to reach millions of pages by the fiscal year. A vast amount of intelligent machines are required for processing such an immense number of data. The connected sensors on the IoT are producing more data, and the cloud-computing has made it easier to share data. Therefore, AI can more efficiently tackle more critical problems in other industries. For example
Transportation
Many places have already installed traffic lighting with AI that has helped to cut the travel times. Others are using AI and data analytics to reduce traffic congestion.
Law Enforcement
Cities are using AI so that they can prevent crimes even before that takes place. The city’s predictive analytics unit runs on spatial algorithms to identify when and where can crimes happen.
