Radar speed signs are a traffic calming solution to make drivers aware of speed. Studies repeatedly show that speeders slow down to 80 percent of the time when alerted by a radar sign. Radar speed signs slow down cars to make streets safer. It is very successful, especially with distracted drivers today. The radar signs utilize solar, AC, or battery power. There is a specific software called the StreetSmart Speed Analysis that can format and display traffic and speed data collected from radar speed signs for reporting, organizing, and analyzing speed and traffic stats.

Radarsign was the first brand to set new industry standards for traffic calming solutions. The signs of radar speed are vandal, weather, and bullet-proof. All the radar sign systems are designed and manufactured in the U.S. Charlie Robeson, co-founder and managing partner of Radarsign says, “Radarsign has set a benchmark in the industry by developing the first armored radar speed sign scientifically proven to reduce driver speeds.” Radarsign models use recycled aluminum, innovative LED reflector technology, minimal battery power, and solar panels to provide bright, easy-to-read driver feedback.

The West Monroe Police Department recently placed a radar sign on Wellerman Road to slow down the speed of the drivers. Kassandra Merritt, a CBS reporter at KNOE News 8 in West Monroe, reported on the problem and the solution of the new portable radar speed sign TC-400 from Radarsign was installed on that particular road. One of the local residents of Monroe, named Huff was interviewed at the site, and he said his daughter had been hit by a car on Wellerman Road 12 years ago because of the speeding in that road and had suffered from severe injuries for a very long time.

The radar is intended to collect data and possibly track the speed through the area. The TC-400 is a portable battery-powered radar signal that can be used in several locations, making it a worthy investment for any community, police, school or business.

Radarsign is equipped with Streetsmart traffic data reporting software, which captures data on driver speeds that can be used to validate community traffic complaints and provide insights into speed. From this information, local law enforcement authorities can determine the appropriate response and how resources can be deployed.
