FREMONT, CA: IDENTEC SOLUTIONS, forerunning supplier of innovative wireless solutions, launches a contact tracing module for their personnel safety solution Crew Companion. Crew Companion, known to enhance the safety of staff on oil & gas assets, now excites with a new module for digitized contact tracing.

Crew Companion integrates both, flexible hardware and software to provide real-time information when it’s needed most – in case of an emergency. Besides Crew Companion’s standard personnel safety functions, the solution now provides a supportive, fully automated contact tracing module. By avoiding the inconvenience of manual contact tracing, Crew Companion Track & Trace enables operators to identify and isolate staff members who are suspect of an infection. By providing a fully digitized and automated contact tracing tool, IDENTEC SOLUTIONS believe that it can add another layer of safety to the health of offshore staff while at the same time ensuring operational uptime.

By logging several parameters such as zones visited, duration of interaction with potentially infected staff, approximated time of infection and geographical team presence, a risk level can be assigned to each staff member. This provides an indication, based on historical data if further measures need to be taken by the operator. The risk levels, zones, and other parameters can be fully customized to comply with the HSE demands of every customer. The contact tracking module is available free of cost for existing IDENTEC SOLUTIONS oil & gas customers who a covered by a Support & Maintenance Agreement (SMA). It is available for Crew Companion and the previous solution Watcher Personnel.
